The game won't load
Stuck on the loading screen
Cause: the game can't reach the server, or your connection is slow. The first visit also downloads the 3D scenes.
Fix: give it a moment on slow data. If an error line appears ("We couldn’t reach the server. Check your data or Wi-Fi, then retry."), check your connection and tap Retry. Reload the page if the loading lines keep cycling for more than a minute.
"Too many new players from your network"
Cause: a brake on how many new guest accounts one network can start at once.
Fix: wait a minute and retry. It never affects a life you already have on this browser.
"Your room didn’t load"
Cause: the connection dropped while your home was loading.
Fix: tap Retry in the same spot.
Blank 3D scene, or a slow phone
Cause: the game draws a 3D scene in your browser, which needs WebGL and a fair bit of memory. There is no graphics or low-power setting in the game today.
Fix: close other tabs and apps, update your browser, and make sure hardware acceleration is on in its settings. A blank scene with the menus still showing can mean WebGL is turned off or blocked in your browser.
"My progress is gone"
You start as a guest with no sign-up. Your life is stored on our server, and this browser keeps a cookie that says which life is yours. Lose the cookie and the browser no longer knows which life to open.
A new character after clearing data, or in another browser
Cause: the cookie is gone or was never there. Clearing site data or cookies, opening the game in a private (incognito) window, or switching to another browser or device all start a new guest. A private window forgets its guest as soon as you close it.
Fix: a guest life you never saved can't be brought back. From now on, save it: Phone → Settings → 💾 Keep this life on any device, then confirm your email with a six-digit code. After that, 🔑 Log in to a saved life brings it back on any device (by email code, or a password you set in Settings).
Logged out and now someone new
Cause: logging out as a guest ends that life on this device. The game warns you and offers "Keep it first".
Fix: if you had saved it with your email, log in again. If not, it is gone.
Started a new person by mistake
Cause: Fresh start (on the title screen or in Settings) retires your character for good and you create a new one. Your @name and your fate card stay the same.
Fix: none; the old character can't be resumed. The game asks before it happens.

A shift won't start
The Start shift button shows the reason under it. The reasons, and what to do:

A gig or activity won't start

My money looks wrong
Open Phone → Bank. Balance is your Spendable cash plus your Welcome fund, which is always spent first. Transactions lists your recent payments one by one. The usual reasons money moved:
- Tax. Wages and business payouts are taxed by the week, and the tax is taken before the money reaches you: nothing up to ₦400,000, then 10% above ₦400,000, 25% above ₦2,500,000, 40% above ₦20,000,000. The count starts again every Monday. The Bank shows this week's income, band and tax deducted.
- Rent and the loan. Every Saturday morning, rent and the Kolanut Loans instalment are taken. Whatever you could not pay shows as Unpaid bills; tap Settle my bills. After 2 unpaid weeks of rent you are moved to the cheapest room.
- Fares and activities. Paid up front. Cancelling an activity does not refund it.
- ChopNow deliveries add a ₦200 delivery fee.
- Hospital. A serious sickness left untreated ends in a hospital stay, and the hospital charges you (currently ₦25,000). If you can't cover it, it is owed like unpaid rent.
- Business payouts arrive at 6 PM, and a business pauses if you have not played for 7 days.

Messages not arriving
- No banner? Check Phone → Settings → Alerts for new chats. New messages still show on the Phone button and in Messages.
- Game in a background tab? It stops checking for messages until you bring it back on screen.
- "… has closed their inbox" or "is on your block list"? One of you has blocked the other. You can unblock from the chat; they have to unblock you themselves.
- Your message bounced? Messages with links, phone or account numbers, other apps' handles, money offers, sexual content or slurs are not sent, and the game says which rule it broke.
- "Chat is taking a short break"? The team has paused messages for a moment. Try again shortly.

Reporting a player or a bug
A player: open your chat with them, tap Report, pick a reason and tap Submit report. Their latest message to you is hidden until a moderator has looked at it. Tap Block as well if you don't want to hear from them again.

Questions
Is my game saved on my phone?
No. Your life is saved on our server. Your browser only keeps the key to it, which is why clearing site data or using a private window can lose a guest life.
Can I play the same life on my phone and my computer?
Yes, once you save it with your email: Phone → Settings → "Keep this life on any device", then "Log in to a saved life" on the other device.
Is there a graphics or low-power setting?
Not at the moment. If the 3D scene is slow, close other tabs and apps and keep your browser up to date.
Why did I lose money overnight?
Most likely the weekly bills: rent and the loan instalment are taken every Saturday morning. The Bank app lists every payment in Transactions.
Can progress be wiped by the game itself?
No. Your progress is saved on our server and kept. The game is in Public Beta; in the rare case a reset is needed, it is announced on the updates page first.
